Confirmation completes the grace of Baptism by a special outpouring of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. This outpouring seals or “confirms” the baptized in union with Christ and equips them for active participation in the worship and apostolic life of the Church. In the Diocese of Richmond, this Sacrament is currently conferred upon teenagers in 10th grade, but it may be celebrated at any point past that.  Dedicated catechists (teachers) and sponsors accompany the teenager through the process. Contact Jean Hawley.

**PLEASE NOTE:  It is imperative that if your high school student is registered for sacrament preparation at ICC that you attend each of the four in-person 2.25-hour sessions we have on the schedule. If there are extenuating circumstances that may affect your high schooler’s attendance, please let Jean Hawley know as soon as possible at jeanhawley@icchampton.org or (757) 826-0393 x222. Also, if your high school student is not yet registered and needs to be, please contact Jean as well.

SPONSORS

All those seeking to become sponsors need to read and sign the appropriate Sponsor Attestation form, testifying that they meet the requirements of the Church for these roles, and have their pastor or administrative staff sign the form as well.  For the form, go to: https://richmonddiocese.org/office/christian-formation/?tab=16
