• Chesapeake Bay Foundation (www.cbf.org ) is an organization working to save the Chesapeake Bay.

• Chesapeake Climate Action Network  (CCAN) (www.chesapeakeclimate.org ) is a grassroots, nonprofit organization dedicated exclusively to fighting global warming.

• Hampton’s Clean Cities Commission (www.hccc@hampton.gov ) is a volunteer citizens organization endorsed by Hampton City Council in 1978 to address Hampton’s litter problem. The Commission is a certified Keep America Beautiful Clean Community Organization.

• Interfaith Power and Light (IPL) (www.interfaithpowerandlight.org) is the inspiration for God’s Earth Ministry.  Rev. Canon Sally M. Bingham started Interfaith Power and Light, a religious response to Global Warming.  Hundreds of chapters throughout the nation are testament to the value of this organization which encourages worship spaces to reduce their carbon emissions and save God’s creation.

• National Resources Defense Council (NRDC) (www.nrdc.org ) works to protect wildlife and wild places and to ensure a healthy environment for all life on earth.

• Sierra Club (www.sierra.org ) is America’s largest grassroots environmental organization.  Inspired by nature, it is l.4 million people strong.

• Virginia Interfaith Power and Light (VIPL) is the Commonwealth’s IPL affiliate (http://www.vipl.org/).  God’s Earth Ministry has been inspired by IPL and VIPL as their goals are the same as G.E.M.’s, i.e., saving God’s creation.
