December 8, 2018 began our Parish’s 50th Anniversary and a year-long celebration of who we were, who we are, and our journey as disciples of Christ. Our motto for the year is “We Are Called… Disciples on a Journey”. Bishop Barry C. Knestout joined us as we installed our new Pastor, Fr. John Grace. Also present in celebration were Pastor Emeritus, Monsignor Bob Perkins and Fr. Sean Prince.
50th Anniversary Food Drive
On March 2-3rd, we celebrated our Parish's 50th Anniversary with a Food Drive for the VA Peninsula Foodbank. We were able to donate 3763 lbs of food to the Foodbank, with which we have a membership. Our membership helps us support our many feeding ministries here at ICC. One week, we were able to buy 400 lbs of meat for only $7! What a blessing we were able to provide!
50th Anniversary Parish Picnic
On Sunday, June 2nd, the Parish celebrated our community as we gathered together around one of our favorite things, food! Rocky Mount BBQ provided the food and Bubbles the Clown provided the entertainment for the youth.
50th Anniversary Sunday Supper Event
On Sunday, July 14th, ICC celebrated one of our largest social ministry programs at ICC, our Sunday Supper Ministry. Sunday supper provides a warm cooked meal each week to people in our community. This year, on our 50th Anniversary, we celebrated 5 years of Sunday Suppers!
50th Anniversary Hot Dog and Ice Cream Social
Saturday, September 15th, 2019 began the Religious Education Classes. To kick it all off, the parish hosted a special 50th Anniversary Event with the kids in mind. We celebrate our 50th Anniversary through our past, our present, and our future as we are ALL Disciples on a Journey. The youths are our future and one day, they will be the future leaders of our Parish!
